If you have a shedding pet, look first at how each listing describes its pre-filter and air inlet. The listings that name pet hair do so in their titles or bullets, and this guide quotes that wording. None of these listings states a test result for pet hair, and this guide does not add one. Where a listing gives no pre-filter or inlet wording, the table says so.
The quick answer: the Levoit Vital 100S-P has a Pet Mode and a U-shaped inlet that its listing says traps airborne pet fur, and the Blueair Blue 511i Max names pet hair in its title. For a larger room with a stated dust CADR, the Levoit Vital 200S-P lists 254 CFM for dust. Check the room size on the listing before you buy.
How we chose and what the listings leave out
We read eight Amazon listings on 2026-10-17 and did not test any of them. The criteria are the ones a buyer can check on the page: pet hair named in the listing, a pre-filter or inlet described for hair, stated room coverage or CADR, and stated noise. A model with no pet wording on its listing is not in this list.
- Pet wording appears in the title or bullets of all eight listings. The Levoit Core 400S-P and the Honeywell HPA6000W name it in their pre-filter wording.
- CADR is stated for three models: the Levoit Core300-P, the Levoit Vital 200S-P and the Levoit Core 400S-P.
- Filter wording differs. Some listings say HEPA, some say True HEPA, and some say 99.97% of particles down to 0.1 or 0.3 micron.

Worked example: a 300 sq ft room with a shedding pet
For example, take a 300 sq ft room. The EPA sizing chart gives a minimum CADR of 195 cfm for 300 sq ft, assuming an 8-foot ceiling. The listings do not give a pet hair CADR, so this is a rough check only. Using the dust CADR as a stand-in: the Levoit Core300-P lists 153 CFM, below 195 cfm; the Levoit Core 400S-P lists 240 CFM and the Levoit Vital 200S-P lists 254 CFM, both above it. The EPA chart is for particle removal in general, not for pet hair, so treat this as an estimate.
Conflicting figures on the listings
The Honeywell HPA6000W gives 398 sq ft at 4.8 air changes per hour in its bullet and 1,928 sq ft in one hour in its title. We show both. The Blueair listing says “237 csq ft” as written, and we keep that wording. The MOOKA KJ190H title gives 2,200 sq ft, but its bullets give no coverage figure, so we cannot check it.

- Best for: a bedroom or small room where the pet wording is in the title and the listing gives three CADR figures.

Mistakes to avoid
- Choosing by title alone. A pet word in the title does not show a pre-filter for hair; read the bullets.
- Skipping the pre-filter cleaning. The MOOKA KJ190H lists a filter reminder at 2,000 hours, and the Fulminare H13 says to replace its filter about every 3 months.
- Expecting a test result. No listing in this guide states one for pet hair.
Who should skip buying
Skip this list if you need a tested pet hair result, or if your room is much larger than any stated coverage figure. A purifier reduces what is in the air; it does not remove hair from furniture or floors.
What the EPA guide says
The US EPA guide on air cleaners was opened on 2026-10-17 and shows “Last updated on October 1, 2026”. It says CADR “is for particles only”. It also gives a sizing chart: 195 cfm for 300 sq ft with an 8-foot ceiling. Source: US EPA, Guide to Air Cleaners in the Home.
Frequently asked questions
Does any listing show a pet hair test result?
No. The listings name pet hair in their titles or bullets. None of them states a test result for pet hair, and this guide does not add one.
Which listings describe a pre-filter that catches hair?
The Levoit Core 400S-P describes a pre-filter that captures hair and pet fur. The Honeywell HPA6000W describes a pre-filter that captures dust and pet hair. The Levoit Vital 100S-P has a washable pre-filter and a U-shaped inlet that the listing says traps airborne pet fur.
Is a higher CADR always better for pets?
A higher CADR means the unit can clean a larger area, according to the EPA. The listings do not give a pet hair CADR, so use the dust or smoke figure as an estimate only.
Does the listing state a noise level for every model?
No. The Honeywell HPA6000W does not state a decibel value. The other models state one, though not always for the same fan speed.
Should I check the price?
Yes. This page does not show prices. Check the current price on Amazon before you buy.
